Company Claims to Be Local, Scam Alert Issued

September 4, 2012 Jacksonville, FL The BBB serving Northeast Florida and The Southeast Atlantic has received multiple complaints against a company calling itself The Closeouts Center, Inc. The company website, www.closeoutscenter.com claims to sell bulk lots of cosmetics, toys and appliance for export overseas and for pennies on the dollar. Complainants stated that deposits for these purchases were made by bank to bank transfers in amounts ranging from $1000 to over $20,000. After sending the company the funds, no products have been received and they have been unable to contact the company. The invoice sent to the complainants for payment lists the company address as 18 E. River St., Savannah, Ga. This is actually the address of a restaurant that has no affiliation with The Closeouts Center. The website referenced above lists the company’s distribution center at 1500 Beville Rd, Daytona Beach, Fl. The address is actually a strip shopping mall. Neither the City of Daytona Beach n
